Statutory is your one stop shop for all things statutory. You can purchase many different products and services that will help you stay organised when it comes to your trust or company. 

Some years ago, “Statutory stuff” was separated from Slater Chartered Accountants. We created Statutory Limited – an entity that solely manages statutory functions for both companies and trusts. We did this because:

Statutory material, which is your company and trust documentation, is more about words than numbers.

Slater works mostly with your financials and your tax, which is more about numbers than words.

Most of the statutory documentation is done by solicitors, then banks and some clients themselves etc. There are many fingers in the proverbial pie and creating a separate Statutory entity made it easier for everyone who needed to get to the documents

Up until now we’ve kept hard copy files for you. Frankly this hasn’t worked so well and we’ve been searching around for a modern tech solution.

Enter Connectworks which has two products. Companyworks and Trustworks.

From now on Statutory is using Connectworks. 

Connectworks is a Kiwi company. We like that!
It’s a cloud based system that aims to resolve the major issue of compliance of family trusts and companies. This system is making trusts & companies easy to manage. It also delivers secure storage for all your important information for the term of the trust or company’s life.

Trust and company documents must be kept for the full life of the entity, (unlike financials and tax stuff which has to be kept for 7 years.) They must be kept up to date. We’ve found the best way to do this is with an online cloud system. Connectworks is a cloud based software, like Xero, where all parties can access the material quickly and easily.

We tested and played with both products for some time. Like Xero, Connectworks’ Companyworks and Trustworks are both so far ahead of anything else available we’d be inefficient and unprofessional to offer any other solution. For this reason we’re  no longer working with any other providers. We’re that convinced.

We’re now only offering Trust and Company services for client trusts and companies that are subscribed to Connectworks.

It’s a winning combination.
